day in the life of me...
4:32 -- wake up find that the boy is screaming his head of because he had an accident. quietly calm him down (And be amazed that his sister slept through his screaming) change his clothes and set up sleeping bag on the floor of his room. reassure him that his internal organs are just having trouble keeping up with his external growth and that it's okay. attempt to go back to sleep.
6:33 -- wake up to realize that setting ones alarm clock is pointless if one forgets to turn it on. roll out of bed and head to bathroom.
6:45 -- emerge from bathroom. girl child has arisen (since we don't forget to forget to turn THEIR alarm clock on) and is jumping on the husband. boy child slept through the alarm clock. meander down to wake him up. fix breakfast of cereal with milk for one and without for the other.
6:52 -- put water on to boil for heating up thermos' for lunch boxes. the other (girl child) decides she does want milk on her cereal, but just a little bit. boy child wants more cereal. he can't fix it, his legs are too cold.
6:55 -- girl child wants more cereal. she can carry the bowl BYHERSELF. girl child promptly spills bowl. boy child wants another helping of cereal. girl child cleans up milk, husband dust busts the cereal, i get more. thermos' (thermi?) heating up. food in the micro wave to heat up, yogurt in the boxes, other filler in the boxes. husband has clothes laid out for children.
7:02 -- food in lunch boxes, breakfast finished. children attempting to get dressed. remember there was an accident last night. rush to strip bed of bed tent, 87023874 stuffed animals, 3pillows, 2 mismatched socks, a water bottle and the sheet. throw sheet, tent, and rags in which the milk was cleaned into the washer.
7:05 -- get self dressed. mourn the fact that my blender is broken as it is easier to drink breakfast than actually eat.
7:15 -- promise money and small countries if the children will finished getting dressed. husband copies instructions for butterfly growing for boy child's teacher, says bye and makes his way into the bathroom.
7:30 -- bags packed, jackets on, butterfly larvae and instructions in hand we head out the door.
8:00 -- arrive at boy child's school. unload children, see friends, walk up to school with friends, children, and larvae.
8:05 -- drop off boy in classroom, explain to teacher as much as I know about the larvae.
8:15 -- spend 5 minutes trying to talk to parent in the parking lot and not let girl child get killed by other cars. Spend 6 minutes trying to wrangle girl child into seat in order to drive to school.
8:26 -- realize there is no gas in tank and stop for gas.
8:30 -- drive back across town to preschool.
8:43 -- get to preschool and kill time in the car with girl child until school opens.
8:52 -- walk girl child into school. retrieve long lost address of friend in class so no one is left out of someone's upcoming birthday! kiss girl child good bye. leave.
9:03 -- talk to parents briefly in the car. just cause.
9:15 -- throw bed clothes into dryer, start another load of laundry. start work. score same question over and over until eyes literally cross.
9:55 -- stand up and stretch, procure food and drink. back to scoring.
11:00 -- prepare self and stuff to score outside. go outside...decide it is hella chilly and come back in. work.
12:15 --notice that validity report is on a constant downswing and call it quits for the moment. check email, FB, and WM.
12:30 -- leave to pick up girl child.
12:49 -- receive phone call from friend, discuss the strange occurrences happening with her child and pick up the girl child.
12:55 -- head home with girl child.
1:10 -- convince girl child that it is indeed nap time. make self lunch. attempt to work whilst the girl child sleeps.
1:45 -- give up on work and sleep with girl child.
3:30 -- roll over and realize that sleeping this long is rarely a good thing... but man it felt good! wake up girl child.
3:42 -- boy child arrives home. he and friend tear through house to play in back yard. chat with mom.
4:45 -- try to figure out what to do with a half frozen pack of chicken breast for dinner. give up. text husband to bring home fully cooked chicken.
5:15 -- corral children to help make dinner. put them to work quartering potatoes (yes with real sharp knives... no bleeding i promise.)
5:37 -- throw potatoes into oven. start boy child on home work and girl child on sitting quietly with books.
5:45 -- unload dishes, reload dish washer, hand wash big stuff.
6:15 -- potatoes are done, broccoli is done, wait on husband to bring chicken. kids run outside to wait.
6:27 -- chicken arrives, plates are made, children are allowed to watch one TV show and husband and i talk briefly over dinner.
6:39 -- boy child wants seconds.
6:41 -- girl child wants seconds.
6:49 -- boy child wants thirds.
6:57 -- girl child claims she is full. she is told to get ready for bed.
6:57.5 -- girl child claims she is indeed not full and requests more chicken.
6:59 -- girl child is full.
7:04 --husband helps children get ready for bed and starts reading homework. bed needs to be remade... top bunks are not fun!!
7:15 -- sit down to listen to rest of reading. boy child starts having a break down. he is removed from the room
7:25 -- read the night before christmas (yes i know it's april) to girl child.
7:40 -- boy child is still sniveling. is allowed out of room to wash face and try to calm down.
7:45 -- read time for bed.
7:50 -- put children in the bed. sing lullabies and give kisses.
7:57 -- sit down to work.
9:28 -- my 9 hours of bach runs out and the work day has ended.
9:30 -- surf the net. decide to write this instead of making it a status update (you're welcome!)
10:46 -- am ending this, gonna brush my teeth and call it a night.
it really seems that i didn't do that much and, after all, i took a rather long nap, but it is really draining doing this scoring.
tomorrow's day will be busier and friday's even more so. maybe my body knows it will have little chance to rest over the next few days and catches sleep when it can.
