There was Valentine's Day. I made the kiddos' shirts. Found the directions here via Pinterest (my newest addiction... sigh.)
Gracie danced.
We played at Power of Play on a VERY stormy afternoon.
The University puts on something called Literacy Live once a month. It's free to the community and this month's theme was bears and hibernation. (The braids... Grace LOVES (the idea of) Rapunzel. So on a rainy day, I made her two super long braids out of pink yarn and attached pony tail holders... BAM! Rapunzel hair!) They started with a story and talking about animals that hibernate. Then broke up into groups. Group 1) read a story about hibernating animals and snow, made snowballs (with a Snoopy snocone machine... LOVE!!), and put them in a cooler. Group 2) Read a story about bears, talked about different bears, got cards about where the bears lived, found these places on a map. Group 3) read a book and then acted out the book. Then we all re-gathered and reviewed. It was a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed it.
And finally, ice skating. Elijah's best friend had gone the week before and asked us to join them to go ice skating. Grace had a little bit of a hard time with getting the hang of it, so we sat and watched a while, but Elijah took to it like a fish to water. With about 15 minutes left, Grace built up her courage and really took off. Someone did steal Elijah's sled (jerks, I PAID for that.... hmph!) and he ended up skating without it and did fine (though fell a bunch... but ya know.) It was a lot of fun, but rather expensive. So it will be a once and a while thing. BUT it will be a nice place to hang out in the summer!!
And really that's February. We hit a few birthday parties as well. And really all this has taken a ton of time. I will to an update (someday) on the kiddos. They are doing well and growing at an insane rate! Love those guys! Gracie had a photo shoot and I'll post about that once I get the proofs! Excited about seeing them though!
