Pup-py!

Grace's favorite word is puppy.  Every animal is a puppy.  I got out the book Doggies yesterday and she flipped out!  It is the funniest thing.  Her speech is quite good.  She has a bunch of words and many signs as well.  She is a little lady, but she wants what she wants and she wants it NOW.  She LOVES "o-meeeal" (oatmeal) and will say it until it is in front of her.  She hates that we take the 10 seconds to reheat it and throws an all out tantrum for said 10 seconds.  Sigh.  On the other hand, if she smacks or scratches someone (mainly Elijah) she will quickly turn around and pat the person gently.  She loves to tickle you.  She has 2 molars and an incisor coming in and she is not happy about these things causing pain in her mouth, though she has dealt with it well.  She LOVES her big brother and, for the most part, wants to be doing what he is doing.  Adversely, she will play independently as well.  She loves books (especially if there is a puppy in said book.)  I'm kicking myself for getting rid of her 12 month winter stuff at the beginning of spring.  I foolishly thought she would shoot up like her brother.  She has not.  She is just tiny and cute and will probably remain as such.  Alas, her 18 month stuff will just have to suffice and be turned under at the waist.  Since we have found her egg allergy, her eczema is much better and she only needs occasional treatments.  This may change in the winter, but we are hoping this is better.   Her hair is getting longer, but you would never know it since it is super curly.  I usually keep her hair in three pony tails (two on each side and one in the back.)  She is not a big fan of the hair brush, but will tolerate it.  Between her and Elijah we go through a bottle of detangler about every 2-3 weeks.  She is very lovey and will give hugs and kisses quite often.  She wants to feed whoever is near her, so I guess she is a sharer in that respect.  She is a HUGE shoe fanatic.  She does not discriminate on type of shoe, but prefers ones that stay on her feet with little effort... so mostly Elijah's.  Her feet are TINY.  She is barely in a size 5 and I feel this is another indicator of her petite size.  She wins the hearts of people quite often with her big brown eyes and cute smile. She drinks out of straws, sippies, and cups all very well.  She isn't a hugely picky eater and will try most anything we give her.  She can follow a set of directions. She gets SOOO excited when Jerry comes home that and she jumps and dances and runs to the door.  She is a daddy's girl through and through. She CAN blow her nose, but usually insists on holding the tissue... sigh.  She LOVES to dance and has fairly decent rhythm for a little bit.  She has the longest eyelashes, which just accentuates her big brown eyes.  All in all we are pretty happy she's in our lives.  There are days I see a peek into the future and I feel that she and I will butt heads many time in the formative years, but such is life.  I'm glad that she will have Elijah and he her.  I try to encourage a bond between them.  We are a house of two Capricorns and two Taurus.  It's an interesting and perfect mix.

So this is my Grace post for the month.  Elijah and I have a date tomorrow and I will do a blog entry just for him then.  I think that I will try to do this once a month just as a little update.

Grace's stats : 21.2 pounds and 30.5 inches tall

I love this post! After EJ was born you wrote a lot more than you have since Grace was born, so I always wonder a little more about her personality. She sounds adorable! (Oh, and you're "pretty happy" that she's in your lives? You're silly!)

i feel slightly guilty that i haven't written more about her. which is a whole other blog post i suppose. she is a really cool kid and i'm constantly amazed at the differences and similarities between the kids. i'm glad you liked the post!

That's great that you are dedicating posts to each of your kids. Gives you a chance to really focus on one (love the "date" is EJ) and we get to learn more about them.

She's too cute Erin.
You know Mimi is small, so she's actually still wearing 12 month clothes, even though she's 16 months. She can even wear "some" 9months, but not many. I have a lot of 18 month old dresses. I'm just going to get some cardigans or sweaters to go with them and leggings.
I feel guilty a lot because I didn't do a lot of things with Mimi like I did with or for Kai. It's like when I had baby #2, I slowed down a bit and got lazy. I think it's good that you do dates with your children. That's awesome and so memorable!

I have a friend whose 4-year-old is still in 2T! Great things come in small packages...

(PS: I love this girl. I may steal her.)
