The Infirmary... AKA our house

The last few weeks in the Jones' household have been riddled with illness.  It started with a tummy virus with Grace, then passed to Elijah (though not as bad), then a cold with cough started in Elijah, then passed on to Grace.  Yesterday I was seized with the stomach virus.  It was the sickest I have been since the night I found out I was pregnant with Grace (and NO I'm not pregnant!)  Jerry said he knew it was serious because I wasn't whiny.  Heh.  Anyway, I could not really move.  Nothing stayed in my stomach.  I managed to keep a little Ginger Ale down.  I lost 4.5 pounds in the course of 24 hours.  Its sucked... a lot.  Luckily Jerry is awesome and kept the kids all day only asking where the roller skates were.  I feel very lucky that he knows our kids and can care for them.  Of course, this isn't the first time he's done so...but ya know!  He had them outside and running around and playing.  It would have been nice if I hadn't been feeling like I might die.  He even had to go into work, but waited until everyone was asleep and settled before he left.  I woke up after a rough night and felt 3000 times better.  I still don't have a huge appetite, but I do feel like eating.  I took a long nap this afternoon and felt well enough to keep the kids by myself twice while Jerry ran into to do chemistry stuff.  However, now Jerry has caught the kids' cold.  Sigh.  We have opened all the windows and hopefully that will clear out the germs floating around.  Elijah's cough seems to be getting better and Grace is just a little trooper.  The craziness in all this is neither of the kids EVER acted sick.  As we get older do illness last shorter, but knock us out faster?  Alas.  I hope that we get through this and then have a well winter!   I'm super glad that I got sick on the weekend.  I honestly could not have kept the kids by myself if it had been a week day.  It took me 30 minutes to get to the bathroom and another 30 to get back yesterday at one point.  I'm so glad that it seemed to be a 24 hour thing.  Regardless, we will be hanging out at the house for the next couple days to say the least.  Gotta get the kids well before my folks come next week!!!!

I'm sorry that you had such a tough couple of weeks, and I am SO sorry that YOU were so sick! That's exactly how I felt when I got the strep/mono diagnosis. It ain't fun, especially with children to care for.

I have to say (and you know how I feel about this) that Jerry is fantastic. Sadly, I know FEW fathers who can do the "Mom's job" so well. I know Jerry is one-- so is Dave. It's such a comfort to know that they are PERFECTLY FINE without you, isn't it??

Big hugs-- to both of you. To ALL of you!!
